Seth Rogen and James Franco star in first trailer for The Interview: watch now

The first trailer has arrived for The Interview, in which James Franco and Seth Rogen play a pair of journalists afforded the opportunity to interview North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

However, what they don't initially realise is that the interview has been set up by the US government, who want our hapless heroes to assassinate their subject as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Cue comedy misadventures aplenty as possibly the two least qualified men for the job look to pull off the hit without being gunned down in the process…

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

This first trailer doesn't give us too much footage of Franco and Rogen's back and forth, but there are enough traces of their usual bromance to give us an idea of what we're in for...

Directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg and co-starring Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park, The Interview will open in the UK on 29 October 2014.

'Runoff' Trailer Tells a Story of Rural Drama (Exclusive Video)

Open to a sunny close-up of a field in rural Kentucky as a plane descends -- and from there, let chaos ensue.

So kicks off the trailer for Runoff, debuting exclusively here at The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie -- directed by Kimberly Levin, produced by Kurt Pitzer and starring Joanne Kelly (Warehouse 13) -- centers on Betty Freeman (Kelly), who must take desperate measures to save her family as her husband falls ill and the government threatens to foreclose her property.

STORY: Relativity's 'Earth to Echo' to Have World Premiere at Los Angeles Film Festival

The result: danger and sacrifice. As ominous tones reverberate in the background, the trailer features shots of everyday farm life interspersed with moments of terror -- everything from a cow getting milked, to the mysterious plane, to frantic hand-washing, to a suggestive frame of a small child exclaiming, “Bang, bang!”

Levin’s directorial debut will have its world premiere during the Los Angeles Film Festival on Thursday, June 12, at 7:10 p.m. at LA Live Regal Cinemas.

The Los Angeles Film Festival runs June 11-19.

Dwayne Johnson stars in new trailer for Hercules: watch now

Dwayne Johnson stars in new trailer for Hercules: watch nowYou cannot deny what you areJun 4th 2014By George Wales

A brand new trailer has arrived online for Hercules, in which Dwayne Johnson stars as the titular musclebound hero.

The film picks up with a washed-up Hercules, embittered by the loss of his family and trading on his reputation as a well-paid, but ultimately unfulfilled mercenary.

However, the chance to recapture his heroic past soon presents itself when an evil warlord begins to wreak havoc with an army of demonic nasties.

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

Naturally, Herc's scuffles with a raft of mythical monsters are the most attention-grabbing scenes on show here, but it's also nice to see Ian McShane and John Hurt bringing some gravitas to proceedings as a pair of wise old heads.

Directed by Brett Ratner and co-starring Joseph Fiennes, Rufus Sewell and Peter Mullan, Hercules will open in the UK on 25 July 2014.

'The Giver' Trailer: Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges Face Off (Video)

Meryl Streep sports a gray wig and a bad attitude in the newest trailer for the star-studded film adaptation of The Giver
.
In this second, longer trailer, Jonas (Maleficent
's Brenton Thwaites) meets The Giver (Jeff Bridges) and starts to learn some shocking secrets about their seemingly perfect community. "Our people chose to do away with emotions," The Giver explains to Jonas. "Those morning injections take them away."
PHOTOS: 35 of 2014's Most Anticipated Movies

Once Jonas starts avoiding the injections, he can finally see the world in color.  But the Chief Elder (Streep) isn't particularly thrilled about Jonas's curiosity. "I'm surprised you're not more worried about him -- I would be," she warns Jonas' mom (Katie Holmes).

The film co-stars Taylor Swift (conspicuously imperceptible in the first two trailers), Alexander Skarsgard and The Odd Life of Timothy Green
's Odeya Rush.
The Giver
was directed by Phillip Noyce, whose last film was 2010 spy thriller Salt. Michael Mitnick wrote the screenplay, based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Lois Lowry. Lowry's novel won the 1994 Newbery Medal for children's literature.
The Weinstein Company will release the film on August 15 and is clearly hoping that it touches the zeitgeist like dystopian YA film adaptations The Hunger Games
and Divergent.

The Strain's First Trailer Will Worm Its Way Into Your Heart

I'd be lying if I said I wasn?t at least partly suspicious that FX?s upcoming horror series The Strain wasn?t just some elaborate social media prank, considering the abundance of creepy footage-free teasers that have been raining down upon the Internet in recent weeks. My fears are allayed now with the first actual trailer, giving us a really good look at what this series will be. 30 seconds isn?t nearly enough time, but its point is still well made.

The bulk of this footage apparently comes from the pilot, which was written and directed by the visionary Guillermo del Toro and author Chuck Hogan, who co-wrote the Strain trilogy of novels together. The story begins in New York with a CDC team investigating an airplane that mysteriously stops in the middle of JFK's tarmac and all communication is lost. As you might imagine, everyone on board is dead. Or are they?

The case is being led by Dr. Ephraim ?Eph? Goodweather (Corey Stoll), head of the CDC?s Canary Project, who brings his team out and soon finds that this is no mere humanoid outbreak. Meanwhile, a professor and Holocaust survivor named Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) has seen this kind of thing before, and it must be destroyed! People begin showing signs of a virus as passed on by vampiric parasites in the form of worms.

Watch Daniel Radcliffe And Zoe Kazan Be Super Sweet In The New What If Trailer

Above you'll find the trailer to What If, the new romantic comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan. After years of Hollywood mocking and subverting the romantic movie formula, it almost seems daring that this is a film following the tried-and-true storytelling device of the two young lovers who can't be together because of a significant other. The bad news is that the trailer gives away everything. The good news is that you can't "spoil" a good movie, so maybe the whole thing is worth it anyway.

In the film, Radcliffe plays a med school dropout in New York City who can't get his life straight. His buddy is played by Girls star Adam Driver, here providing comic relief just a day after he did the same in the first trailer for Shawn Levy's This Is Where I Leave You. Driver may just be the breakout star of Girls, or he might be an irritable weirdo we all tire from in six months. It's hard to say at this point. Whatever the case, there's an interesting culture melting pot moment in this trailer where Harry Potter is sitting at the breakfast table with Adam from Girls. Or Adam Driver of Star Wars. Take your pick.

Radcliffe's character's attraction to Kazan's is immediate, and why wouldn't it be? This girl is cuter than a baby penguin having a pillow fight with a koala. Kazan, who has been dating Paul Dano for seven years now, is gold and silver and all the colors of the rainbow and all the elements of the periodic table. She's the granddaughter to the great director Elia Kazan, so she comes from a great showbusiness legacy, and is cuter than a toy car that opens up to reveal a batch of pugs dressed in police and fireman uniforms. She is the best, and I hope What If is the big break that she deserves. Oh, Zoe.

Director Michael Dowse has had a colorful career up to this point largely working in the Canadian film industry. His crowning achievement thus far may be his last film, Goon. Written by Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen's frequent writing partner Evan Goldberg, the hockey comedy starred Seann William Scott as a sweet but dim bouncer who is recruited to a minor league hockey team to be their on-ice enforcer - a job he joyfully carries out to the best of his ability. It's a brutal and foul-mouthed film (seriously, the avalanche of f-words...), but it has a surprising sweetness, particularly in Scott's understated performance and the chemistry he has with co-star Allison Pill.

What If, which was originally called The F Word (it's "friendship"), also stars Mackenzie Davis, Rafe Spall, Megan Park and did we mention Zoe? Oh, Zoe. The film opens August 1st.

Call Of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC Trailer, Screenshots Reveal New Maps

Today Activision revealed Invasion, the third DLC pack Call of Duty: Ghosts. Invasion will bring new multiplayer content to the game next week on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The DLC pack includes four new maps for online play. "Mutiny" takes place in a pirate hideout somewhere in the Caribbean. The map's Field Order allows players to summon two friendly pirate ghosts to attack enemies.

In "Pharaoh," players will make a mess of an ancient Egyptian palace. Parts of the palace will collapse throughout the map as they take damage. Flesh-hungry scarabs will swarm players dumb enough to break open the urns they live inside. This map's Field Order involves Anubis, the Egyptian god of the afterlife. Apparently he'll "reward" players.

"Departed" is set in a small Mexican town during the Day of the Dead celebration. Players that complete the Field Order can become the Death Mariachi. The Death Mariachi wields two pistols, turning each slain enemy into an ally.

The fourth and last map is a remake of "Favela" from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The Brazilian slum has a new layout and a new hazard: collapsing buildings. The Field Order enables players to call in a Y-8 Gunship to rain down death on the opposition.

Invasion will continue the Extinction mode campaign from previous DLC packs as well. In "Episode 3: Awakening," a team of players must infiltrate the underground fortress of the Ancestors, the "mysterious puppet-masters" responsible for the alien invasion. They'll have to bypass several defensive measures (and kill a whole lot of enemies) to access the Ancestors' secrets at the heart of the fortress.

Activision will release Invasion through Xbox Live on June 3rd. The DLC pack is debuting on Xbox One and Xbox 360 first because of the long-running exclusivity agreement between Activision and Microsoft. PS4, PS3 and PC owners should get the content in about a month.

The map pack costs $14.99 to download. It's also available as part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass, priced at $49.99. The Pass provides access to all four map packs (Onslaught, Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis) as they become available.

Watch Michel Gondry's Whimsically Gorgeous New Mood Indigo Trailer

I don't know how he does it, but Michel Gondry has a habit of taking concepts that could either be extremely pretentious or extremely maudlin and focusing them through the lends of his creative mind to create something really damned beautiful. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is still a vital part of the modern film conversation, and even lesser praised outings like Be Kind Rewind and The Green Hornet manage to sing with Gondry's energy and quirkiness. With the latest look at his new film, Mood Indigo, it looks like he's maintained his visual game, while not losing a step with his thematic prowess.

We spotted the fresh trailer on YouTube, and while it is as beautiful as it is heartwarming, it doesn't showcase the really outlandish nature of Gondry's film. Mood Indigo is the story of Colin (Roman Duris), a man who one day demands to the universe that he fall in love. Sure enough, he does just that as he meets the reassuring (and equally interesting) Chloe (Audrey Tautou), with whom he engages in a whirlwind love affair. Just as things look to be proceeding towards their happy end, the newlyweds encounter a bit of a snag: Chloe comes into contact with a spore that is killing her slowly. The only treatment is that she needs to be surrounded by fresh flowers at all times.

The story is based off of Boris Vlan's 1947 novel L'Ecume Des Jours, or Froth On The Daydream, which was also the basis of a Russian opera in 1981 from composer Edison Denisov. Staying power seems to be the strong suit of this project, and Michel Gondry's imaginative retro futuristic imagery helps keep it rooted in the original era of the story while setting it in the present day. If the trailer left any doubt what type of movie this was going to be, then the film's official poster definitely seals the deal.

All this movie needs is a pair of crazy kids from our modern times and a field of classically painted flowers for them to sit amidst. That combination tells you all you need to know about this movie, as well as the man who is behind it. Much like the films that he makes, Michel Gondry is one of those filmmakers that not only loves to find the traces of bygone eras in our modern times, he loves to celebrate the fact that these things have survived. Mood Indigo is slated for theatrical release on
