A brand new trailer has arrived online for Hercules, in which Dwayne Johnson stars as the titular musclebound hero.
The film picks up with a washed-up Hercules, embittered by the loss of his family and trading on his reputation as a well-paid, but ultimately unfulfilled mercenary.
However, the chance to recapture his heroic past soon presents itself when an evil warlord begins to wreak havoc with an army of demonic nasties.

Naturally, Herc's scuffles with a raft of mythical monsters are the most attention-grabbing scenes on show here, but it's also nice to see Ian McShane and John Hurt bringing some gravitas to proceedings as a pair of wise old heads.
Directed by Brett Ratner and co-starring Joseph Fiennes, Rufus Sewell and Peter Mullan, Hercules will open in the UK on 25 July 2014.
